As reported by the Naples Daily News the Estero Planning and Zoning Board voted to recommend approval of two zoning amendments that would allow for a hotel and a storage facility to be built in the village.
Both projects must still go before the Estero Village Council for final approval.
At a public a hearing was held to discuss the proposed Hilton Garden Inn, a 120-room, five story hotel planned for the Coconut Point development.
The hotel would be on 2.16 acres east of U.S. 41 on Sweetwater Ranch Boulevard, near Estero Fire Station #42.
At the same meeting, the board held a public hearing on a proposed storage facility located on two acres near the Tidewater community on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway. The facility is proposed to be an 84,000-square foot, three- story CubeSmart self storage building.
The Village staff has recommend approval of both projects with a number of conditions.
